As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year, you will serve full-time in a partner public school, providing one-on-one and small-group academic support while building strong, trust-based relationships with students. You will reinforce classroom instruction, track student progress, and collaborate closely with teachers and your AmeriCorps team to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment. Provide in-school academic tutoring in core subjects to assigned students. Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, confidence, and engagement. Support classroom teachers with small-group instruction and classroom activities. Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools. Communicate regularly with teachers, students, and families as appropriate. Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions. Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to support whole-school initiatives. Promote an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.
