City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students in partnership with teachers Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify and support students’ needs Track and report student progress and participation using established tools Support and help lead after-school programs and enrichment activities Assist with school-wide events, initiatives, and family engagement activities Participate in regular City Year and AmeriCorps trainings and professional development Contribute to a diverse, inclusive team culture focused on social justice and equity Small-group tutoring Classroom support Student mentoring Behavior management Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Basic computer literacy (G Suite/Microsoft Office) Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Demonstrated commitment to community service or youth development (volunteer or work experience)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
