As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you’ll serve full-time in a partner public school, providing academic support, mentoring, and social-emotional coaching to help students stay on track to graduate. Working in a diverse AmeriCorps team, you’ll tutor in core subjects, lead small groups, support classroom instruction, and help manage whole-school activities. You’ll build relationships with students, teachers, and families, track student progress, and connect learners with resources. City Year offers robust training, leadership development, and a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on equity and student success. Provide daily in-class support and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and engagement Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Collaborate with teachers to reinforce classroom instruction and behavior expectations Support after-school or enrichment programs, clubs, and school-wide events Communicate with families and school staff to coordinate student support Participate in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps trainings and professional development Model equity-focused, inclusive, and culturally responsive practices Contribute to a positive, collaborative AmeriCorps team environment Assist with outreach and service projects that strengthen the school community Youth mentoring Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Classroom support and management Student data tracking and documentation Social-emotional learning strategies Communication with students, families, and staff Collaboration and teamwork Basic technology and educational software Culturally responsive practices Time management and organization Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility for or enrollment in AmeriCorps service Background check clearance for working with youth Experience working or volunteering with school-age youth preferred Training in youth development or education (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
