City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support in partnership with teachers Offer small-group or one-on-one tutoring in key subjects Build positive relationships and mentor students to support social-emotional growth Monitor student progress and track data to inform support strategies Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates to plan interventions Support school-wide events, activities, and positive school climate initiatives Participate in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps trainings and professional development Communicate regularly with supervisors and school partners on student progress Classroom support Tutoring in math and reading Student mentoring Lesson reinforcement Behavior management support Data tracking and progress monitoring Communication with teachers and staff Cultural competency Time management Basic computer skills (Google Workspace, MS Office) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Experience working with youth in educational or community settings Background check eligibility AmeriCorps program eligibility5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
