City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress and participation using program tools Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support with classroom goals Lead or assist with after-school programs, clubs, or enrichment activities Support school-wide initiatives, events, and positive school climate efforts Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Communicate regularly with supervisors and teammates to coordinate services Model professionalism, reliability, and strong attendance in the school setting Promote City Year’s mission and values within the school and community Youth mentoring and engagement Small-group academic tutoring Classroom support techniques Basic data entry and progress monitoring Time management and reliability Team collaboration and communication Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competence and equity mindset Basic lesson or activity planning Professional written and verbal communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Successful completion of background check TB test or school/district health clearances (as required) Proof of high school diploma or equivalent (or higher degree)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
