City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students during English, math, and other core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to improve academic performance Mentor students to support social-emotional growth, attendance, and positive behavior Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify and support students’ needs Help create an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom and school environment Track and report student progress and participation using established tools Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage in school-wide events, family outreach, and community service projects Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data entry and progress tracking Basic computer literacy (e.g., Google Workspace, MS Office) Time management and organization Communication with students, families, and school staff Team collaboration Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Experience working with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
