City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring to students in core subjects Support classroom instruction and collaborate with teachers on student progress Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive behaviors Lead or support after-school programs, clubs, and enrichment activities Monitor and record student attendance, participation, and progress data Communicate regularly with school staff and City Year teammates Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners in student support activities Tutoring in math and English/literacy Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and progress monitoring Communication with students, families, and school staff Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Facilitation of groups and activities Conflict resolution and de-escalation Basic computer and educational technology skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Successfully pass background checks Ability to commit to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
