City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects Mentor and build positive relationships with students Support students’ social-emotional development and engagement Assist with planning and leading after-school programs and activities Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support Track and report on student progress and participation Promote an inclusive, positive, and safe school climate Participate in ongoing training and professional development Engage with families and community partners as appropriate Model City Year’s values of service, equity, and collaboration Classroom support Tutoring in core subjects (English, math) Youth mentoring Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Basic technology skills (Google/Microsoft Suite) Program facilitation Time management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must be at least 18 years old U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Able to pass background checks Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
