City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support in core subjects such as math and English Offer one-on-one and small-group tutoring and mentoring to students Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement student support plans Track and report student progress and participation in interventions Lead or assist with after-school programs, clubs, and enrichment activities Promote consistent student attendance and engagement in school Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development Engage in team meetings, reflection, and service projects with fellow members Represent City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and social justice in the school community Tutoring and academic support Youth mentoring Classroom management support Data entry and progress monitoring Basic educational technology use Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural humility and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Able to meet City Year and school district background check requirements Commitment to full-time service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
