City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic and behavioral support to students Deliver one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects Track and report student progress using established tools Collaborate daily with teachers and school staff to align supports Engage students in positive relationship-building and mentorship Support school-wide events, attendance and engagement initiatives Participate in City Year training, reflection, and service days Model inclusive, respectful, and equity-focused behavior Classroom support Tutoring (reading and math) Student progress monitoring Behavior management Lesson implementation support Data entry and reporting Communication with teachers Community outreach Time management Basic computer skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements (e.g., U.S. citizen or legal resident) Background check clearance required Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required Experience working with youth or in diverse communities preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
