City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily academic and social-emotional support to students in partner schools Tutor students in small groups and one-on-one in core subjects Support classroom instruction and positive behavior management Track and report student progress and participation data Coordinate and lead afterschool or enrichment activities Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff as part of a team Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-driven practices Support school-wide events and initiatives as assigned Student support strategies Tutoring in math and literacy Classroom management Youth mentorship Data entry and progress tracking Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Basic technology (Google/Microsoft Suite) Time management Cultural competency and DEI awareness Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or legal residency requirements) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school districts Interest or experience in education, youth development, or community service preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
