City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class support to students in partnership with teachers Offer one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress and attendance data Support after-school programs, enrichment activities, and school events Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet school goals Communicate with teachers, staff, and families about student needs and progress Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflection sessions Model professionalism, respect, and equity-focused practices Support a safe, inclusive, and engaging school environment Classroom support Tutoring in math and literacy Youth mentorship Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Lesson implementation support Family and community outreach Basic technology skills (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office) Time management Professional communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (including citizenship or legal residency requirements) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school districts Commitment to a full-time term of service Interest in education, youth development, or community service5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
