City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students during English, math, and other core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to support academic growth Build positive, mentoring relationships with students Track and report student progress and attendance data Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals Help manage classroom behavior and reinforce school-wide expectations Plan and lead after-school or enrichment activities Support school events and family engagement activities Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on student success Tutoring and academic support Classroom support techniques Youth mentoring Behavior management strategies Data entry and basic progress monitoring Basic educational technology tools Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Experience working with youth (preferred) Basic computer literacy for data entry and communication5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
