City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers through classroom management assistance and student engagement Deliver small-group or one-on-one tutoring in core subjects to help students meet academic goals Mentor and build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional development Track and report student progress using City Year tools and school data Support implementation of behavior and attendance interventions Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs Collaborate with school staff and fellow AmeriCorps members to coordinate student support Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage in family and community outreach activities as needed Uphold City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and social justice in daily service Classroom management support Tutoring and academic support (literacy and math) Student mentoring and relationship-building Data entry and basic progress monitoring Behavior management strategies Written and verbal communication Team collaboration and coordination Time management and organization Basic technology skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, virtual learning tools) Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school and youth work Experience working or volunteering with youth strongly preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
