As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year in Educational Services (Education, Training & E-Learning), you’ll support student success through daily in-school service. Partnering with teachers, you’ll provide individualized and small-group academic tutoring, monitor student progress, and lead enrichment or homework support. You’ll build strong relationships, mentor students in social-emotional skills, and promote attendance and engagement. In City Year’s collaborative, inclusive culture, you’ll receive training, coaching, and professional development while making a meaningful impact in public schools as part of a diverse service team. Provide individualized and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support classroom instruction in partnership with teachers Monitor and track student progress and attendance Mentor students and build positive, supportive relationships Facilitate homework help and enrichment activities Promote student engagement, participation, and positive behavior Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to support whole-school initiatives Model City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and social justice Academic tutoring in reading, writing, and math Lesson and activity planning Classroom and behavior management Student progress monitoring and data tracking Use of educational technology and e-learning tools Communication with teachers, staff, and families Youth mentoring and relationship building Facilitation of small groups Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Teaching credential (preferred) AmeriCorps eligibility requirements Background check clearance Experience with K-12 curriculum (preferred) Training in youth development or education (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
