City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and small-group academic support in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive behaviors Collaborate with teachers to identify students’ needs and track progress Support attendance initiatives and family or community engagement activities Plan and lead after-school or enrichment programs and events Collect and report data on student interventions and outcomes Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practices Contribute to a positive team culture and school climate Assist with school-wide projects, events, and service days Tutoring and academic support Youth mentoring and relationship-building Classroom support and behavior management Data tracking and basic reporting Communication (verbal and written) Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competence and equity-minded practice Basic technology skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets) Program facilitation or group leading Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident (AmeriCorps requirement) Must pass criminal background checks (AmeriCorps requirement) Ability to commit to a full-time 10–12 month service term Interest or experience in education, youth development, or social services5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
