City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and after-school academic and social-emotional support to students Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups in core subjects Track and report student progress using established tools and systems Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement support plans Lead or support attendance, behavior, and enrichment initiatives Participate in ongoing City Year training, reflection, and professional development Engage families and community partners in student success activities Student support strategies Youth mentorship Classroom assistance Data entry & progress tracking Basic tutoring (ELA/Math) Behavior management Collaboration with teachers Community outreach Time management Basic technology skills (Google/Microsoft) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident status) Ability to pass required background checks for working in schools Commitment to completing a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience with youth, tutoring, or community service preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
