City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers with classroom management and instruction Monitor and encourage student attendance and on-time arrival Deliver social-emotional learning and behavior support interventions Facilitate or assist with after-school and enrichment programs Build positive, mentoring relationships with students Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student progress Engage families and caregivers to support student success Collect and track student data to inform support strategies Participate in City Year training, reflection, and professional development Tutoring and academic support Classroom management support Youth mentoring Data entry and progress tracking Communication with students, families, and staff Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Classroom, learning platforms) Facilitation of small groups and activities Time management and organization Conflict de-escalation and basic behavior support Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Completion of City Year pre-service training First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
