City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small group tutoring in key subjects to assigned students Mentor and build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Monitor attendance and help implement strategies to improve student engagement Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support with classroom goals Lead or assist with after-school programs, enrichment activities, and clubs Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Collect and track student data to inform interventions and measure impact Engage with families and community partners, as appropriate, to support student success Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate and City Year team culture Uphold AmeriCorps service requirements and City Year policies throughout the service term Tutoring and academic support (literacy and/or math) Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Data entry and basic progress monitoring Time management and organization Written and verbal communication Basic facilitation and group management Cultural responsiveness and DEI awareness Problem-solving and adaptability Collaboration and teamwork Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (meets citizenship requirements) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service for the entire school year Strong interest in youth development, education, or social justice5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
