City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support in core subjects to assigned students Offer one-on-one and small-group tutoring and mentoring Support students’ social-emotional development and goal setting Assist teachers with classroom management and instructional activities Monitor and encourage student attendance and engagement initiatives Help plan and lead afterschool programs and enrichment activities Participate in school-wide events, family engagement, and service projects Track student progress and maintain accurate service records and data Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff Engage in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Tutoring and academic support (K–12) Youth mentoring and relationship building Classroom support and behavior management Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Teamwork and collaboration in diverse groups Time management and organization Cultural humility and equity-focused practice Facilitation of small groups and activities Basic conflict resolution and de-escalation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
