As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year in the Educational Services industry, you will serve full-time in a public school, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. Working within the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you’ll provide in-class and small-group tutoring, mentor students, and collaborate with teachers to reinforce lessons and track progress. City Year is a national nonprofit that partners with public schools to help students succeed and provides professional development, teamwork, and leadership opportunities in a collaborative, inclusive, and social justice–focused culture. Provide daily in-class and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build positive relationships, confidence, and engagement Support teachers with classroom activities and behavior management Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet school-wide goals Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage in school and community service projects as assigned Academic tutoring Lesson reinforcement Classroom support Student mentoring Behavior management Progress monitoring Data entry and tracking Communication with teachers Basic technology skills Small-group instruction Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Teaching certification (preferred) Tutoring certification (preferred) Experience with AmeriCorps or service programs (preferred) Background check eligibility5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
