Provides hospital medicine services in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Evaluates and treats hospitalized patients, develops care plans, interprets diagnostic results, manages medications and referrals, and supports coordinated, evidence-based care. Requires at least two years of experience and a master’s degree with the relevant national certification. Interview and examine patients; initiate appropriate workups and develop treatment plans. Round on hospitalized patients and determine appropriate dispositions based on clinical findings and needs. Assess acute, critical, and chronically ill patients, gather histories, and develop prioritized differential diagnoses. Interpret laboratory and imaging results and prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. Coordinate patient care with physicians and the multidisciplinary team, including transition huddles and referrals. Maintain documentation and quality standards, participate in chart reviews, and support ongoing practice improvement.
