Encompass Health seeks a Floor Technician – Carpet Cleaning to ensure clean, safe, and attractive floor surfaces in our rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you will perform routine and deep cleaning of hard floors and carpets in patient rooms, therapy areas, and common spaces using auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet extractors. You’ll follow strict infection prevention and safety protocols, handle chemical products properly, and respond to spills to reduce slip and fall risks. Working closely with environmental services and clinical teams, you support a healing environment that reflects our mission of patient-centered, compassionate care. Evening or weekend shifts may be required. Clean and maintain hard floors and carpets in patient rooms, therapy areas, and common spaces Operate auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and carpet extractors safely and effectively Perform floor stripping, waxing, burnishing, and carpet spot cleaning and extraction Follow infection prevention and hospital cleaning protocols to support patient safety Handle and store cleaning chemicals according to safety and OSHA guidelines Respond promptly to spills and hazards to reduce slip, trip, and fall risks Inspect and perform basic maintenance on floor care equipment and report issues Adhere to daily, weekly, and project cleaning schedules and documentation requirements Collaborate with environmental services and clinical staff to support patient care needs Follow all hospital safety, PPE, and regulatory standards while on duty Floor stripping and waxing Carpet extraction and spot removal Use of auto-scrubbers and burnishers Chemical dilution and safety Infection prevention cleaning practices Equipment inspection and basic maintenance Hazardous material handling (e.g., sharps, spills) Time management and task prioritization Reading and following cleaning schedules Documentation of work and issues Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety training Bloodborne pathogen training Healthcare cleaning/disinfection training Equipment operation training for floor machines and extractors5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
