Wake County Public School System seeks a Special Education Teacher – Emotional Behavior Support II for 3rd–5th grade students. In this on-site role, you will design and deliver specialized instruction, implement IEPs, and provide targeted behavioral and emotional support for students with significant needs. You will develop and monitor BIPs, collect data, collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families, and create an inclusive, structured classroom environment. Provide specialized instruction for 3rd–5th grade students with emotional and behavioral needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with student goals Design and maintain behavior intervention plans and supports Use data to track academic and behavioral progress and adjust instruction Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff Communicate regularly with families and guardians about student progress Create a safe, structured, inclusive classroom environment Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies when needed Ensure compliance with IDEA and district special education policies Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives Special education instructional strategies Behavior intervention planning (BIP) IEP development and case management Classroom and behavior management Data collection and progress monitoring Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 Differentiated instruction De-escalation and crisis intervention techniques Family and caregiver communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education or eligibility for licensure Experience implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans Training in de-escalation and crisis intervention preferred Knowledge of IDEA and special education compliance requirements5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
