Encompass Health is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant for our day shift inpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you’ll implement treatment plans under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to help patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and other serious illnesses regain function and independence. Responsibilities include assisting with evaluations, providing therapeutic exercises and ADL training, documenting progress, and educating patients and families. You’ll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment that supports continuous learning and professional growth. Provide occupational therapy treatments under supervision of an Occupational Therapist Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized treatment plans Support patients with ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities Accurately document patient progress and response to therapy in medical records Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and adaptive techniques Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to coordinate care Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas in safe, clean condition Follow clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and infection control practices Occupational therapy treatment implementation Knowledge of neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques Activities of daily living (ADL) training Therapeutic exercise and functional mobility training Patient and family education Clinical documentation in EMR systems Interdisciplinary team collaboration Safety and infection control practices Time management in acute/rehab setting Understanding of rehabilitation equipment and adaptive devices Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current state license or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Prior inpatient rehab or acute care experience preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
