Encompass Health in Lubbock, TX seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and other serious illnesses. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven rehab hospital, you’ll implement PT treatment plans, lead therapeutic exercises and gait training, monitor patient responses, and document progress. You’ll educate patients and families, ensure safety and infection control, and participate in interdisciplinary care and ongoing professional development in a patient-centered environment. Deliver physical therapy treatments under direction of a licensed PT to support patient mobility and functional recovery Follow individualized care plans, documenting progress, vital responses, and functional outcomes accurately in the EMR Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance and neuromuscular re-education using appropriate equipment Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and adaptive techniques to promote independence Collaborate with PTs, nurses, physicians, and other rehab team members during rounds and care conferences Ensure safe, clean treatment areas and proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of rehab equipment Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and infection-prevention standards and Encompass Health clinical protocols Participate in ongoing training, in‑services, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical skills Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait training and balance rehabilitation Neuromuscular re-education techniques Functional mobility training and transfers Patient and family education Rehabilitation documentation/EMR use Vital sign monitoring during therapy Use of rehab modalities and equipment Knowledge of rehab and safety protocols Interdisciplinary care collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Texas PTA license in good standing Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program BLS/CPR certification Prior inpatient rehab, acute, or outpatient neuro/orthopedic experience preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
