City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and small-group academic support in core subjects Mentor and coach students to build social-emotional skills and positive relationships Collaborate with teachers to implement data-informed interventions for students Support school-wide initiatives, events, and positive behavior systems Track student progress and document interventions and outcomes Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners to support student success Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team environment Model professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to service Uphold AmeriCorps and school policies, including all safety and reporting requirements Tutoring in math and literacy Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and coaching Data entry and progress monitoring Basic computer skills (Google Workspace or MS Office) Communication and presentation skills Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Demonstrated interest in youth development or education Bilingual skills a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
