City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers in the classroom to reinforce instruction and engagement Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive behavior Monitor student progress and document interventions and outcomes Assist with whole-school events, attendance initiatives, and family outreach Collaborate with AmeriCorps teammates and school staff on service plans Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development Promote an inclusive, equitable school culture aligned with City Year values Academic tutoring (reading and math) Classroom support and student engagement Mentoring and youth development Data entry and progress monitoring Behavior management and de-escalation basics Communication with students, families, and staff Team collaboration in diverse environments Time management and organization Basic technology skills (email, spreadsheets, virtual tools) Cultural competence and equity-focused practice Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Able to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Demonstrated interest in youth development or education Bilingual skills a plus (e.g., Spanish/English)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
