City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in math, English, and other core subjects Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior Collaborate with teachers to reinforce classroom instruction and routines Track and report student progress using data and program tools Assist with planning and leading school-wide events and initiatives Build positive, mentoring relationships with students and families Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Work collaboratively on a diverse AmeriCorps team within the school Support attendance initiatives and student engagement activities Uphold City Year’s values of service, equity, and inclusion in daily work Student tutoring and academic support Classroom assistance Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and documentation Behavior management support Communication (verbal and written) Teamwork and collaboration Time management and reliability Basic computer literacy (e.g., Google Suite, MS Office) Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member U.S. Citizen, National, or lawful permanent resident Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service term (typically 10–11 months)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
