City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support and small group tutoring in core subjects Serve as a mentor and positive role model to students Support social-emotional learning and behavior management strategies Track student progress and contribute to intervention plans Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning environments Lead or support after-school and enrichment programs Participate in school-wide and attendance initiatives Engage families and community partners as appropriate Attend City Year trainings, coaching, and leadership development sessions Uphold City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and service Classroom support Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data tracking and basic documentation Communication with students and staff Team collaboration Time management and reliability Basic technology/computer skills Cultural competency and DEI awareness Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility for AmeriCorps service (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass required background checks Commitment to full-time service term (10–12 months) Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
