City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic and behavior support to students in partner schools Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students Track and report on student progress and attendance data Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff on student support plans Support classroom routines, school-wide events, and after-school programs Communicate regularly with teammates and City Year staff Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Uphold City Year’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice Engage families and community partners to support student success Classroom support Tutoring in math and ELA Youth mentoring Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Basic educational technology Lesson implementation support Collaboration with teachers Community and family outreach Time management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or legal resident status and background check) Completion of City Year and school district onboarding and training CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Experience working or volunteering with youth strongly preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
