City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to K-12 students Support teachers with classroom activities and academic interventions Build positive, mentoring relationships that foster students’ confidence and engagement Track and report on student progress using program tools and data systems Collaborate with City Year teammates and school staff to plan student supports Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practices Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding student needs and successes K-12 tutoring Lesson planning Classroom management support Student progress monitoring Data entry and tracking Behavioral support strategies Basic literacy instruction Basic math instruction Communication with educators Time management Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship requirements) Ability to pass required background checks for work in schools Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
