City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students and teachers during core academic subjects Deliver small-group or one-on-one tutoring and academic interventions Build positive, consistent relationships with students as a mentor and role model Support students’ social-emotional learning and behavior management Collect and track student progress data to inform support strategies Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and fellow AmeriCorps members on student support plans Help plan and lead after-school, enrichment, or attendance initiatives Participate in ongoing City Year trainings, coaching, and team meetings Engage families and community partners to support student success Uphold City Year’s values of service, equity, and inclusion in daily work Classroom support Small-group tutoring Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competency and DEI awareness Basic technology skills (email, documents, spreadsheets) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Completion of City Year pre-service and ongoing trainings Prior experience working with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
