City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to K-12 students in core subjects Support classroom teachers with daily lessons and learning activities Monitor, document, and report student progress using set tools and processes Build positive, mentoring relationships that encourage student engagement and confidence Collaborate with school staff and City Year teams to address student needs Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practices Support school-wide events, enrichment activities, and after-school programs as needed Tutoring in core subjects Lesson planning Classroom support Student progress monitoring Data entry and tracking Behavior management Small-group instruction One-on-one academic coaching Basic educational technology use Professional written and verbal communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member, including U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency Ability to pass required background checks for working in schools Experience mentoring, tutoring, or working with youth is strongly preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
