City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily in-class and after-school academic tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, confidence, and good habits Support teachers with classroom activities, small groups, and behavior management Track student progress and document attendance, grades, and intervention efforts Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to plan supports Engage families and community partners to encourage student success Participate in ongoing City Year and school-based training and coaching Model professionalism, leadership, and City Year’s core values in the school Support school events, interventions, and enrichment programs as needed Reflect on data and feedback to continuously improve student support Tutoring K-12 students Lesson planning support Classroom management Academic data tracking Literacy instruction Math instruction Small-group facilitation Student mentoring Behavioral support Basic technology skills (Google Workspace/MS Office) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Background check eligibility required Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (e.g., citizenship or permanent resident status) Experience working or volunteering with youth strongly preferred Bilingual skills a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
