City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support in English and math to students identified for additional help Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions Track and report student progress using City Year tools and school data systems Support classroom management and create an encouraging, inclusive learning environment Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support with classroom instruction Lead or assist with after-school programs, enrichment activities, and family engagement events Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model positive behavior, attendance, and school engagement for students Contribute to a diverse, inclusive team culture focused on social justice and student success Support school-wide initiatives, events, and service projects as assigned Student tutoring Classroom support Youth mentoring Data entry and progress tracking Lesson support and facilitation Behavior management support Basic MS Office/Google Suite Community outreach Time management Professional communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps per federal requirements Ability to pass background checks required for work in schools U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (typical AmeriCorps requirement)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
