City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students in core subjects such as math and English Offer one-on-one and small-group tutoring and mentoring to students Monitor student attendance and engagement, encouraging participation and persistence Support students’ social-emotional skill development and positive behavior Assist teachers with classroom activities, lesson reinforcement, and learning centers Plan and lead after-school or enrichment programs and schoolwide events Communicate regularly with teachers, school staff, and teammates about student progress Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and respect in all interactions Collect and track basic student engagement and progress data as requested Tutoring in math and literacy Classroom support Youth mentoring Behavior management Basic data tracking and documentation Communication with students, families, and staff Team collaboration Time management and reliability Cultural competency and equity-focused practice Facilitation of small groups and activities Medical Insurance Must be at least 18 years old by start date U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident Able to pass background check required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred, not required)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
