City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and individual attention to students during math, English, and other core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to help students stay on track academically Build positive, mentoring relationships that support students’ social-emotional development Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify student needs and track progress Support and help lead afterschool programs, clubs, and enrichment activities Assist with school-wide events, attendance initiatives, and community-building activities Collect and document data on student engagement and academic progress Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model inclusive, culturally responsive practices aligned with City Year’s values Contribute to a collaborative AmeriCorps team focused on student success and continuous improvement Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Collaboration with educators Culturally responsive communication Time management Facilitation of group activities Basic computer and office software skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (AmeriCorps requirement) Successful completion of background and criminal history checks Ability to commit to full-time AmeriCorps service term Prior experience with youth or tutoring preferred but not required5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
