City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students and teachers during core academic subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to support academic achievement Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive school engagement Assist with planning and leading school-wide events and service projects Track and report student progress using basic data and documentation tools Collaborate closely with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Promote an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environment Engage families and community partners in support of student success Classroom support Youth mentoring Small-group tutoring Basic lesson facilitation Behavior management support Data entry and progress tracking Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management Cultural competency Medical Insurance Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements (U.S. citizen or legal resident, background check) Previous experience working with youth preferred Bilingual skills a plus Basic computer literacy5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
