City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small group instruction in core subjects Offer one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to assigned students Monitor and track student attendance, engagement, and academic progress Support classroom management and foster a positive learning environment Plan and lead after-school or enrichment activities and events Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement student interventions Participate in regular training, coaching, and reflection sessions Engage families and community partners to support student success Model leadership, inclusivity, and respect for all students Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year service standards and performance goals Tutoring and academic support Classroom management support Data entry and progress monitoring Youth mentoring Lesson and activity planning Basic computer literacy (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office) Communication and interpersonal skills Group facilitation Conflict resolution and de-escalation Time management and reliability Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must be at least 18 years old U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (AmeriCorps eligibility) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Experience working with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
