City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily in-school academic tutoring in core subjects to assigned students Support teachers with small-group instruction, homework help, and classroom activities Monitor student progress, track data, and adjust support based on goals Mentor students to build attendance, engagement, and social-emotional skills Collaborate with school staff and City Year team members to align support Communicate regularly with supervisors on student progress and challenges Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practices Support school-wide events, family engagement, and service projects Uphold City Year and school policies to ensure a safe learning environment Tutoring (K-12) Lesson planning Classroom management support Assessment and progress monitoring Data entry and reporting Educational technology tools Literacy intervention strategies Math intervention strategies Behavioral support techniques Communication with educators and families Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Background check and clearance required by local school district and AmeriCorps Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or lawful permanent resident status) CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or youth development preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
