City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class and after-school academic support to students in partner public schools Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups in core subjects like math and English/language arts Build positive, mentoring relationships that support students’ social-emotional development Track and report student progress and attendance using City Year tools and school data systems Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals and student needs Assist with planning and leading school-day and after-school enrichment, clubs, and events Model leadership, inclusivity, and social justice values in all interactions with students and teammates Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Contribute to a collaborative, diverse AmeriCorps team environment focused on student success Engage families and community partners, when appropriate, to support student growth Classroom support Tutoring in math and literacy Behavior management Youth mentorship Data entry and progress tracking Lesson reinforcement Small-group facilitation Educational technology tools Community outreach support Professional communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or lawful permanent resident status) Ability to pass required background checks for working with youth and in public schools Interest in or experience with tutoring, youth development, or community service Commitment to a full-time term of AmeriCorps service5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
