City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily classroom and small-group academic support in partner public schools Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and engagement Support teachers with classroom activities, transitions, and behavior management Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Lead or assist with after-school programs and school-wide initiatives Communicate with school staff and families as part of a student support team Participate fully in City Year training, reflection, and professional development sessions Model inclusive, asset-based practices aligned with City Year’s values Classroom support Tutoring (reading/math) Youth mentoring Behavior management Lesson implementation Data entry & progress tracking Educational technology tools Communication (students/families) Team collaboration Community outreach Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including required background checks) Authorization to work in the United States for the full term of service Commitment to a full-time service term (typically 10–12 months) Experience with youth, tutoring, or community service strongly preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
