City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students in core subjects, especially English and math Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to help students meet academic goals Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, confidence, and engagement Support student attendance and behavior initiatives in partnership with school staff Collaborate with teachers to plan and adjust daily support for focus students Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Participate in after-school programs, clubs, and school-wide events as needed Engage in regular City Year trainings, coaching, and leadership development sessions Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and team-based service environment Support community service projects and other City Year and school initiatives Small-group tutoring Classroom support Youth mentoring Basic data entry and progress tracking Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Conflict de-escalation and behavior support Cultural competency and inclusivity Basic computer skills (email, documents, spreadsheets) Medical Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools TB test or other school district health clearances (as required)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
