City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects such as math and English/language arts Support teachers in the classroom by reinforcing lessons and managing learning activities Monitor and track student academic progress, attendance, and engagement Build trusting, supportive relationships with students as a positive mentor and role model Assist with classroom management and promote positive student behavior Lead or support enrichment, after-school, and homework help sessions Communicate regularly with school staff and City Year team members about student needs Use data and feedback to adjust tutoring strategies and interventions Participate in City Year-led training, reflection, and leadership development sessions Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on educational equity Academic tutoring (math and English/language arts) Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship building Lesson reinforcement and intervention strategies Data tracking and student progress monitoring Written and verbal communication Collaboration with educators and team members Basic computer and educational technology use Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse populations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k City Year AmeriCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident) Background check clearance Experience working with K–12 youth (preferred) Tutoring or mentoring experience (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
