City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily academic tutoring in core subjects to K–12 students Mentor students to build confidence, social-emotional skills, and goal-setting habits Support teachers with small-group instruction and individualized interventions Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools Collaborate with a diverse City Year team to plan and deliver student support Communicate with school staff and families to reinforce student success plans Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Tutoring (math, ELA, or related subjects) Lesson planning and academic intervention Classroom management support Student mentoring and coaching Progress monitoring and data tracking Small-group instruction Educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom) Communication with teachers and families Youth development practices Cultural competence and DEI awareness Bachelor’s degree preferred; H.S.
