City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects to K–12 students Support classroom instruction and reinforce lesson objectives in partnership with teachers Monitor, document, and report student progress using defined tools and guidelines Build positive, mentoring relationships that promote students’ social-emotional growth Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates to plan interventions and activities Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Communicate regularly with supervisors and school partners about student needs Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practices Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Lesson planning and academic intervention Student assessment and progress monitoring Classroom management support Use of digital learning tools Data entry and basic data analysis Scheduling and time management Professional written communication Professional verbal communication Collaboration with teachers and staff Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as a City Year AmeriCorps member (including age and citizenship requirements) Successful completion of background and reference checks Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred Basic proficiency with computers and online learning tools5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
