City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide individual and small-group tutoring in core subjects to support student learning and skill development. Mentor students to build positive relationships, encourage engagement, and support social-emotional growth. Collaborate with teachers to align tutoring with classroom instruction and school goals. Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and engagement using established tools and protocols. Support classroom management and create an inclusive, encouraging learning environment. Assist with planning and facilitating academic enrichment, homework help, and after-school programs. Communicate regularly with school staff and City Year team members to coordinate student support. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions. Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture focused on equity and student success. Model professionalism, leadership, and City Year’s core values within the school community.
