City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and after-school tutoring to students in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify student needs and track progress Lead or support small groups, enrichment activities, and school-wide initiatives Collect and enter data on student attendance, behavior, and academic performance Participate in ongoing City Year trainings, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners to support student success Model inclusivity, professionalism, and City Year’s service values in school every day Student support strategies Tutoring and academic coaching Classroom management Youth mentorship Data entry and progress tracking Communication with teachers and staff Community outreach Time management Basic technology skills (Google/Microsoft Suite) Conflict resolution Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status) Ability to pass required background checks for working in schools Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Bilingual skills a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
