Encompass Health seeks an Infection Prevention / Hospital Educator to lead infection control initiatives and staff education in our inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role develops, implements, and evaluates infection prevention programs, conducts surveillance and audits, educates clinical and non-clinical staff on best practices, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, you will analyze infection data, guide performance improvement, support policy development, and mentor staff to promote a safe, patient-centered environment and a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement. Develop and implement infection prevention and control programs across the hospital Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, audits, and data analysis Educate and train clinical and non-clinical staff on infection prevention best practices Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to infection control Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on performance improvement initiatives Develop, update, and interpret infection control policies and procedures Lead outbreak investigations and recommend corrective actions Provide onboarding and ongoing education for new and existing staff Report infection trends and outcomes to hospital leadership and committees Promote a culture of patient safety and clinical excellence Infection prevention and control Clinical education and training Data analysis and infection surveillance Policy and procedure development Regulatory compliance (CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission) Healthcare quality improvement Adult learning principles Presentation and facilitation Electronic health record (EHR) proficiency Report writing and documentation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) or related clinical licensure preferred Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or required within specified timeframe Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience with infection surveillance systems and data reporting Knowledge of CDC, OSHA, and Joint Commission infection prevention standards5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
